Our Staff

Jenn is our Taproom Manager and has been part of the Artisanal family for over a year and half. With over 25 years of restaurant experience, she is doing an amazing job in this position!

This is Sarah, our newest bartender. Sarah just moved from sunny California to New York and most recently worked at a non-profit foster care agency. Her upbeat demeanor and enthusiasm is a great fit for us, and we look forward to her continued success in this position!

Kerry is an electrician by day, volunteer firefighter, and part-time bartender at Artisanal Brew Works. In Kerry’s limited spare time, you’re likely to find him riding his motorcycle.

This is Jonathan, our bio-chem//lab tech. Affectionately known as “Yeast Beast”, Jon was a student of owners Kurt Borchardt and Colin Quinn in High School and has been with us for 15 months. He helps ensure the beer you enjoy passes our muster, and we’re glad to have him be part of the team!

This is Lorenz “Man Of Mystery” Werneburg. Lorenz came to us as an intern through the Schenectady County Community College brewing program, and we liked him so much we brought him in full time before his graduation. His meticulous nature is a huge benefit to our brewing, and we’re glad to have be part of the team!

Taylor has been with us for 6 months. Her upbeat and personable attitude is a huge benefit to our brewery, and with her impressive customer service and management background, we look forward to her continued success at our taproom! So make sure to say ‘Hey!’ to Taylor next time you see her here at Artisanal Brew Works.

Shane Frasier, our Marketing Specialist, has been with us for one year. His vast background in marketing, event planning, media production, and writing have been a huge asset to the company. We’re excited to see where he takes Artisanal Brew Works as he continues to help grow our brand! Cheers!

Kurt & Colin (owners)

Both Kurt and Colin share a deep passion for quality craft beer, but and the picture shows, we don’t take ourselves too seriously…life is too short to be pretentious!

Kurt was an engineer for many years at International Paper and General Electric, then changed careers and became a teacher. After a 13 year period of homebrewing and being a teacher (is there a link here ;), Kurt retired from teaching to run the brewery full time. A former hockey player and competitive rower, Kurt is now developing his Dad bod, or is it a Brewer bod? If Kurt isn’t at the brewery, he’s either coaching hockey or hanging out with his family.

Colin has been a teacher for 20 years. With extensive travels abroad, Colin was exposed to great beers in his formative years. With 25 years of brewing experience, he’s great at developing new, innovative recipies. In Colin’s spare time he enjoys spending time with his family at Lake Desolation.
